Jan. 9th, 2008 - Matt is the featured author of the month for January over at Apex Online, the digital tentacle of Apex Science Fiction and Horror Digest. In addition to reprinting his story "The Dead Man and the Berserk" there is an in-depth interview with Matt that covers everything from his ever-growing hatred of Diablo Cody and Scott Sigler to the Bushido of Writing to the history of life, the Universe, and podcasting.

Dec. 28th, 2007 - The Traverse City Record-Eagle, Northern Michigan's most respected newspaper, features an article on Variant Frequencies in which they interview Rick and Anne Stringer. Matt is mentioned prominently and often.

Dec. 25th, 2007 - The list of Best Podiobooks of 2007 has been released, and The Failed Cities Monologues is named among the 20 most popular podcast novels of the year.

Dec. 16th, 2007 - As a holiday gift to all of his Failed Cities fans, Matt gives you The Failed Cities: Hath a Darkness, an all-new 10,000-word eChapbook set that returns us to the characters that drove the original podcast novel. Produced into a gorgeous .PDF by Rick Stringer, it is available as a free download from Variant Frequencies.

Dec. 14th, 2007 - Matt was recently interviewed for Podcasting Call, a new audio drama blog. In addition to discussing The Failed Cities Monologues, Punisher vs. Batman, and Michael Bay, Matt also announced the first full six-episode season of Deck Gibson: Far Reach Commander coming to Decoder Ring Theatre in the summer of 2008.

Dec. 1st, 2007 - Issue #2 of Murky Depths has streeted! Featuring fiction from the likes of Stan Nicholls, KA Patterson, DM Moehrle, Willie Meikle, Kurt Kirchmeier, AR Yngve, Jason Sizemore, Hannah Davey, Sarah Wagner, Edward Morris, Mike Driver, as well as the second episode of Richard Calder's graphic novella Death and the Maiden, and the premiere of Luke Cooper's new serialized comic event, The Dark Gospel.

Nov. 20th, 2007 - REJOICE! Apex Publications, one of the last bastions of quality print genre fiction and the publishers of Apex Science Fiction and Horror Digest, have announced the impending destruction that will come to be known as THE NEXT FIX by Matt Wallace. This is matt's VERY FIRST short story collection, and it will feature many of the stories that have driven the Variant Frequencies podcast for the last two years. To mark the occasion, Matt took to VF's feed for the first time ever with a special audio message to fans, fellow podfic authors, and the world at large.

Oct. 20th, 2007 - Matt was a guest on Writers Talking, the roundtable podcast hosted by Parsec Award nominee Matthew Wayne Selznick. He was joined by author Mark Leslie for a discussion on the subject of horror.

Sept. 4th, 2007 - Matt attended Dragon*Con 2007 in Atlanta, GA. Read a full report on the madness, mayhem, and exposed nipples in his livejournal.

Sept. 1st, 2007 - Matt wins Best Speculative Fiction (Short Form) at the Parsec Awards for the second year

Aug. 22nd, 2007 - Matt's short story "Old Tricks" is now live on Variant Frequencies. Co-written with award-winning playwright DM Moehrle, it features the fabulous vocal stylings of Matthew Wayne Selznick and Leann Mabry, among others.

Aug. 13th, 2007 - Matt owns the 2007 Parsec Award nominations! The Failed Cities Monologues is recognized for both Best Audio Drama (Long Form) and Best Audio Production, while Matt receives not one, but two nods in the Best Speculative Fiction (Short Form) category, for "My Caroline" and "No World for Warriors" respectively.

Aug. 2nd, 2007 - The premiere issue of Murky Depths is now available! Featured contributors include BSFA Award-winning novelist Jon Courtenay Grimwood and post-cyberpunk god Richard Calder.

July 28th, 2007 - The second of Matt's two half-hour Deck Gibson: Far Reach Commander adventures is now live on the Decoder Ring Theatre podcast. Be sure to download Deck Gibson and the Last Squadron Fighter today!

July 20th, 2007 - Matt's short story "Akropolis" is now live on Pseudopod. It's read by Phil Rossi, author of the hit new podcast novel Crescent.

July 16th, 2007 - The Failed Cities Monologues have been nominated for a Podcast Peer Award! They join J.C. Hutchins' 7th Son Trilogy and Mur Lafferty's Heaven as finalists for Best Serialized Fiction. Winners will be announced August 15th

July 14th, 2007 - Deck Gibson: Far Reach Commander -- the all-new pulp sci-fi radio drama created by Matt for the Decoder Ring Theatre podcast's Summer Showcase series -- premieres with the first of two half-hour episodes. July 10th, 2007 - Precision Pictures Pty Ltd. announced today it has acquired the film rights to Parsec Award winning author Matt Wallace's acclaimed experimental podcast novel The Failed Cities Monologues. The Sydney-based production company has also purchased the rights to Wallace's short story "Delve." The author will adapt both properties for the screen himself. June 30th - Matt's story "Delve" has gone live on Variant Frequencies.

June 24th - Matt's short story "Akropolis" has sold to Pseudopod. This will mark his third appearance on the preeminent horror podcast magazine.

June 19th - Matt's guest status has been confirmed for Dragon*Con this Labor Day weekend in Atlanta, GA.

Apr. 27th - Two of Matt's 700-word shorts that originally appeared on DZ Allen's Muzzle Flash are now available in podcast form from Variant Frequencies. "Notes" is narrated by none other than podcasting's Rich Sigfrit, while "Maidenhead" is performed by local Northern Michigan actress Nan Worthington.

Apr. 11th - Tattered Souls, featuring Matt's novella "The End of Flesh", is available from Cutting Block Press. The anthology also includes five other novellas by authors
Richard Wright, Jeff Crook, ME Palmer, Chris Reed, and Chris Ryan.

Apr. 5th - Matt's 700 word short story "Notes" has been selected to appear in Out of the Gutter Magazine. "Notes" was originally featured on DZ Allen's companion webzine Muzzle Flash.

Mar. 25th - Matt's story "The Dead Man and the Berserk" is live on Variant Frequencies and narrated by none other than his mortal enemy and podcast fiction
madman Scott Sigler. "The Dead Man and the Berserk" also appears in the Murky Depths promo issue. Copies are available from their website.

Mar. 17th - The newest installment of HypaSpace, the weekly podcast of Canada's premiere science fiction cable channel, features an interview with Decoder Ring Theatre writer/director/producer Gregg Taylor. Gregg discusses their upcoming pulp sci-fi series scripted by Matt, and premieres a short clip from the first episode. Deck Gibson - Far Reach Commander is slated to appear in July.

Mar. 11th - The Failed Cities Monologues are complete! The final episode is now live on both Variant Frequencies and Podiobooks. Matt discusses the finale, as well as the future of the Failed Cities, in his livejournal. Mar. 4th - Matt's short story "No World for Warriors" is live on the Variant Frequencies podcast. It's part of the Anne Stringer series Amarant, tales of immortality.

Mar. 2nd - Matt's story "My Caroline" is live on Pseudopod and narrated by none other than 7th Son Trilogy creator J.C. Hutchins.

Feb. 22nd - Episode 25 of The Failed Cities Monologues is live on Variant Frequencies. The penultimate monologue in the series brings d'Anger's arc, and possibly the femme fatale herself, to an end.

Feb. 18th - Matt's short story "My Caroline" has sold to Pseudopod. This will mark his second appearance on the popular horror podcast magazine.

Feb. 9th - Episode 24 of The Failed Cities Monologues is live on Variant Frequencies. The reluctant detective, Constable Klimenko, has made it to the end, albeit short some flesh and a few pints of blood.

Jan. 29th - Episode 23 of The Failed Cities Monologues is live on Variant Frequencies. Learn Fera's fate as she reflects on the bloody events in her life leading up to the Failed Cities.

Jan. 27th - Matt attended ChattaCon 32 in Chattanooga, TN.

Jan. 10th - Matt's novella "The End of Flesh" has sold to the forthcoming Cutting Block Press anthology Tattered Souls, set to premiere at World Horror Con in Toronto at the end of March.

Jan. 9th - Issue #8 of Apex Science Fiction and Horror Digest featuring Matt's story "A Place of Snow Angels" as well as new fiction by Tom Piccirilli, Jennifer Pelland, Lavie Tidhar, MM Buckner, and the legendary William Nolan has been released.
