Author Links
Christa Faust - Author of HOODTOWN, one of my favorite novels of all-time, and the first female writer signed to Hard Case Crime. You won't find better or ballsier fiction anywhere in the Western hemisphere.
Eugie Foster - Ridiculously accomplished author, editor, and non-fiction writer. Her short story "Cyberevenge, Inc." is going to end up being one of my favorites of 2007, without a doubt. It'll be appearing in the premiere issue of Murky Depths.
Fran Friel - Author of the novella everyone in the small press horror community seems incapable of shutting up about, MAMA'S BOY, Fran is like Kaylee from Firefly; she's dear to us.
Jonathan C. Gillespie - A new writer with a killer voice and tons of potential, we recently signed his story "Paston, Kentucky" to the premiere issue of Murky Depths.
Geoffrey Girard - Author of the collections TALES OF THE JERSEY DEVIL and TALES OF THE ATLANTIC PIRATES. Catch Geoff's serialized story "Cain XP11" in Apex Science Fiction and Horror Digest.
J.C. Hutchins - Author of podcast fiction's first true blockbuster, the 7TH SON TRILOGY, and the nicest guy in the business. Call him Hutch. He likes that.
Jack Kincaid - A dear and disturbed friend of mine, Jack is the most talented novelist you've never heard of. But you undoubtedly ARE familiar with his stories in Surreal Magazine, Insidious Reflections, Champagne Shivers, and Exit Laughing.
Mary Robinette Kowal - Truly luminous purveyor of puppetry and audio fiction, Ms. Kowal's short stories have been featured in such prominent markets as Strange Horizons and Cosmos. In addition to a resume that includes the beloved children's show LazyTown, Ms. Kowal also provided my story "A Place of Snow Angels" with a beautiful illustration for Apex Digest. And it's pronounced "Co-wall" in case you were wondering.
Mur Lafferty - The first lady of podcasting and a geek chic icon second only to Tina Fey in my book, Mur is a freelance writer and host of the popular podcasts I Should Be Writing and Geek Fu Action Grip.
She's also co-editor of the horror podcast magazine Pseudopod, and author of the groovy as hell podcast novel HEAVEN.
Terry Martin - Publisher, editor-in-chief, and my boss at Murky Depths, and an all-around British gent, Terry is also a writer with short story credits that include UK 'zine Fiction.
Tee Morris - The best-dressed man in podcasting and the author of the MOREVI series, Tee is another podcast fiction pioneer and the host of The Survival Guide to Writing Fantasy. If you ever have the chance, buy him a drink. It's worth it just to hear his bar stories.
Jennifer Pelland - Few authors have built a rep like Ms. Pelland's on little more than a handful of short story sales. The reason is simple:
She's a fucking amazing writer.
Mark Rainey - Mark is one of the most accomplished writers I know, and I mean that in the creative sense of the word. A true journeyman storyteller, he's author of the novels BALAK, THE LEBO COVEN, THE NIGHTMARE FRONTIER, and BLUE DEVIL ISLAND. You won't find a more skilled or entertaining purveyor of monsters and madness in all of contemporary literature.
R. Thomas Riley - I gave my first blurb to Riley's collection THROUGH THE GLASS DARKLY. You can also find several shorts of his on Amazon.
Scott Sigler - You want blood? You got it, tough guy. One of the founding (drunken and abusive) fathers of podcast fiction, I've often described Sigler's stuff as Michael Crichton on bad acid and with an ultra-violence fetish. He's the author/narrator of the podcast novels EARTHCORE, ANCESTOR, INFECTION, and THE ROOKIE. You can also purchase EARTHCORE and ANCESTOR in print form from Dragon Moon Press.
Lavie Tidhar - One of the most well-known and prolific short story writers in genre fiction today. Seriously. If you share TOC with Lavie, you're not only sharing it with him, you're sharing it with pretty much every other writer who's had a story published in the last five years.
Douglas F. Warrick - If I were assembling a quartet of badass next-gen fiction authors with whom to besiege the literary world like the Four Horsemen of the fuckin' Apocalypse, D-War would be my first call.
We've appeared in a couple of the same markets, and each story of his I read is better than the last. From cerebral and existential to futuristic and bloody as hell. And in many instances, all of the above at the same time.
A.R. Yngve - A Swedish author who has been translated into several languages, including Chinese (I'm envious). We've featured his awesome science fiction on Variant
Frequencies.
